Many people have done it: sign up for beta programs and test software for free. Mel (Alan Turner) is one of these, as he puts his job on the line to experience the latest beta release for Obnox/OS. After all, Office Today rated Obnox/OS as "this year's hottest new operating system." But, having lots of features isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

Obnox/OS was inspired by new technologies found at a premier research organization. The people and software features in the video are not that far off from reality.

  • I love how 4.2gb is now an average OS size.

  • @tapo When I made the animation, I was totally being ludicrous (and "4.2" was just some huge, random number). It is sobering now to look at where we are now with OS sizes.

  • It looks like Obnox would easily fit on a set of 3.5 floppies and use the 640x350 EGA mode for the lowest requirements ever

  • @Dakkiller1 Actually, all the Autodesk Animations that were on the screen fit on a 3 /12" floppy. The animations were, however, 640x480, which was pushing it a bit.

  • at 4:03 look the pc the popup comes up before the mouse is installed lol

  • @ilife11 Obnox/OS is psychic.

  • @Elephanzee The forgotten-suspended version-Windows Obnox.

  • @vistakid10 Come on, at least you can play certain DOSGames on it natively without the use of DOSBox

You can even play the old Toy Story game on it for Windows 3.1 while on this so called Windows XP, It doesn't work at all.
