Priscilla Star Diaz a.k.a. P-Star was born in the Bronx, NY and moved to Harlem as a child. Having a Dad who was a successful record producer in the 80s is how she got her passion for the music biz. P-Star first began emceeing at the age of seven, after insisting to her father she could spit. P-Star began her professional career as lead vocalist in Gold selling kid group Reggaeton Niños. Gaining a reputation for her freestyle abilities, MTV invited her to be a special guest on their reality show Made at the age of ten. It was then that she started getting massive exposure and was signed to a solo record deal to Hunc Records based in Harlem. She released her debut album, Welcome to My Show in the spring of 2007. The singles from the album included "Wanna Make You Dance," "Biggie Bounce," and "It Takes Two." In 2008 P-Star was asked to help create and choreograph her own workout video to address the rabid epidemic of overweight children entitled Exercise Your Body and Mind. In the winter of 2008 Sesame Street came knocking on her door, asking her to be the star of The Electric Company, on PBS. Keep an eye on P-Star, because she has only scratched the surface of her enormous potential.
She's finally getting a little air time. She's been trying for years, so I guess that shows that even without being signed you can get into something. The Electric Company is still a kiddy show though.
