  • is it true that the 72 Actually had a 66 inch cutting width?

  • No. Its 6' 6" or 78" between dividers with a 6' or 72" sickle bar. So actually a 72" cutting width.

  • Well, it is a test plot of sunflowers but the combine is an old AC model 72 pull type combine. Next year I plan on doing about 10 acres with it after a few more modifications. This year I was just trying to figure out how well it would work. It did a great job of trashing out the seed; I just have to get the heads to feed reliably into it, which I seem to have about conquered.

  • interstate seed company has Clearfield varities

  • I would sure like to see a follow up video about your sunflowers and the 72. What cylinder setup do you have? How's the sample look? Etc. Fascinating stuff. Thanks for posting!

  • im looking for gmo sunflower seed for next year if anyone knows where i could find soome let me know

  • this looks like a test plot combine am i right?

  • You got the right idea. Actually, you don't need a reel. The heads will flow back on their own. You can use 9" pans or use the wide ones to match your row width minus 3" (ex. 30" rows minus 3" equals 27" pans).
