  • you should rename the vid to low deep and round, since the FEI decided to rename this awful practice.

  • @thyljia

    :-)

You are so right. I'll have a look at it.

  • If the eyes of your horse always look like that something must be really really wrong. If my horse were to look like that I'd call the vet immediately.

  • this is exactly why people run crap on dressage in the national horsemanship world. people use training methods like rollkur to speed things up, when in reality it is horribly sick! you can see the fear in the horses eyes that are trained in rollkur, and basically...it makes me disappointed in anky for using such a training method..i have seen SO many talented horses go down from the use of rollkur, and i HIGHLY advise you never start using it...it is unethical and banned now in USEF rules.

  • Training wont change his anatomy. it still hurts

  • Low deep and round and rollkur is not the same thing.

  • how horses should be riden

  • i hate this kind of riding !

  • @antmanonimus Agreed, those dressage reins aren't all that long and the rider seems to be going loose reined. Some horses just like to carry themselves certain ways, horse's neck looks lose and relaxed. My horse canters with his head in that position at times and i've never had a double bridle on him and have never tried Rolkur on him. Some people see 'behind the verticle' as Rolkur..

  • @TheMelpher

    4) You own a 4* dressage horse good for you.

    5) I believe being forced to touch your chest on your chin for a period of time is painful

    6) Infact it is like this, trust me

  • @Ash11295

    1) Yes we do know how difficult it is to ride dressage, doesn't justify using rollkur 2) Not all horse's like double bridles and if you're riding in one to gain more control then you have no idea about the real reasons for using a double bridle 3) Yes, but using this as an argument is as logical as saying that because some people are born hunchedback it's okay to to slouch

  • @Ash11295 i think you may have misenterpreted the meaning of this video, this is demonstraiting rolkur, otherwise known as hyperflexion, it stresses their joints and creates breathing problems. there is a difference between rolkur and just "on the bit" if the horses head is behind the vertical to an extent that is when it is classified as rolkur, i hope you dont take offence to this comment but i was just trying to explain the difference between rolkur and plain dressage :)

  • Does this look like a happy horse?
