  • Bought a dewalt 18v drill/driver as a third cordless to see what the hype was all about and it burnt out within 4 weeks so threw it off a scaffold!

Never again! All my stuff is makita and Bosch As they have the best motors and also look the best

  • @wareham0301

If it was the one with the plastic chuck they are crap LOL

  • Pile of shite dewalt! Just black and decker with a respray of a wasp! Makita all the way

  • @wareham0301

Been using Dewalt for 12 years, very reliable for me ;-)

  • At Screwfix, the cordless Dewalt drill with the Ni-Cd Batteries is £99 and the one with the lithium battery is £149. Plus you get two batteries with the first one. So, isn't the first one better value for money?

  • @PUSSY100ish

As long as it is the exact same drill I'd get the cheapest one.

I am sure Li-ion batteries will become cheaper eventually

  • @ultimatehandyman oh deffinatly worth buy if you get two Li-ion batteries they about £90 each

  • @MrBurnTec

I bought a 18v Dewalt drill on ebay that was advertised as not working. It came with 2 Li-ion batteries, charger and case for £100. When it arrived there does not seem to be a problem with the drill, so well worth it just for the batteries!

  • @ultimatehandyman pretty expensive though ive looked in screwfix machine mart there about £80 for charger but worth it ;)

  • @MrBurnTec

Yes, they are very good. I have started to replace my old Ni-Cads with them ;-)
