This will be an ongoing series of artistic little shorts that show off some of the cool locations we scout for future projects.

Mary's Peak is just outside of Philomath, Oregon and it is one of my favorite place to film. I wanted to see how it looked in the snow and it's perfect for our upcoming short film, "The Knik Valley".

This video is also a test for a new lens, the Nikkor 80-200mm f 4 AIS

The image this lens produces blew me away, with the 5D or T2i, it brings a very cinematic, filmic look. I went with the Ultra Anamorphic Letterboxing to show that off even more, mimicking some of my favorite films from the mid 90's like Last of the Mohicans.

This lens + the Nikon to EOS adapter you would need for your Canon DSLR, will cost right around $300. Simply amazing for this type of quality.

Also tested out the Fader HD Variable ND Filter and it is now a must have for me on ALL lenses. Being able to shoot at 1/50th shutter speed and f 1.8 on a sunny day really opened my eyes to how essential Variable ND filters are.

  • Awesome, 2 questions the Nikkor 80-200mm f 4 AIS, do you have any other vids that you used the lens on? My t2i has no lens currently. I was set to buy the 50mm f1.4, then I saw this vid! Lastly, which is better for a film look? In your opinion.

  • @MrNevermore82 Our newest "Facebook Coach" video used the 80-200 Nikkor only. I really like this lens, I'm actually uploading a second "Location Scout" video this very moment, which features the lens.

  • I now hate myself for buying the canon 60d instead of the 5D... I need some consolation :(

  • @DannyRodriguezFilms If you get this lens you will have very similar results after Grading and shooting in CineStyle.

  • Amazing Colour Grading

  • @iGraphic Thanks!

  • Amazing! You've done a really good job! -How much does the lens cost? It makes an amazing picture!

  • I like everything except that Chello sound. Great work.

  • Does anyone know when the canon 5D mark III is gonna come out???

  • Dude this looks exacly like the new movie coming out "The Grey". Did you made a pact with the devil or what?

It looks pretty similar to a 120,000 Dlls Panavision Camera.

I envy you in a positive way.
