Matthew Pavelka: Remembering One of Burbank's Finest

This somber tribute, honoring fallen Burbank police officer Matthew Pavelka, was produced in both Burbank, CA and Washington D.C. for "National Police Day 2004". Officer Pavelka, a promising 26 year old rookie, lost his life when he was senselessly shot during a routine traffic stop. His tragic loss was mourned by an entire community that admired, loved and highly respected him. He was interned at Arlington National Cemetery with full color guard and honors. The song used in the making of this tribute, "Guardians of the Flame" was written and produced by Larry Dunn.

I played Simi Valley Vikings football with Matt back in the day. It was not until years later that I read about his death. I know it is 7 years later, but my prayers go out to his family and the families of all law enforcement officers. Matt was a great kid, and I was proud to have shared the field with him.
