excellent teach I ever seen!:)

the arabic style is akin to tabla tirikita strokes, but opposite!
-
thanks !!!Good tips !
-
clear and understandable! great demonstration
-
THANK YOU FAISAL .... MASHKOR YA WARDA
-
Perfect!

Double ka's can be played fast enough for almost any type of music. Sure the actual movement of the Turkish split finger is faster, but it ends up just being a "brush" like sound. I prefer the cleaner sound of the double ka's.

ahla faisal walah ,ya salam alik ,
-
thank u soo much , mashalah
-
well done...shukran

The Turkish style you move your wrist instead of you finger joints as in the arabic style. Because you do that you can make faster roles.
-
the difference is that with the turkish style you can do double-strokes not only in the middle of the drum, but also on the edge of it (double tak). because of the turkish finger-order you have more drive to get enough power for the edge strokes.

Swweeeeeeeeeeet.

Why do so many people rave about the Turkish split-finger technique (index-ring) when the only difference between it and the traditional Arabic technique (ring-index) seems to be the order of the fingers. Am I missing something here?
-

very cool

thanks so much faisal! you rock. i love the way you embrace the knowledge and technique from many places and use it to your advantage, instead of being stuck in a particular style. in *my* opinion, IT"S ALL GOOD!
-
Amazing. Both Arabic style techniques are excellent and they are far superior to the split-finger technique, imo.
-
Fantastic!
The split finger has opened new possibilities to do long rolls and hand tricks that were not possible before. I appreciate both styles as much for what they have.

the argument is not which finger you lead with, its single finger double ka's Classic arabic/syrian style usually cleaner, but that could be cause its typically played slower ( hold your comments on speed, I haven't seen ANYBODY do single finger ka's as fast as the turkish double blur or double stroke roll for you purists ) vs two finger turkish doubles.
