The Tragically Hip gig at the London Forum, 30 November 2009.

An amazing gig...Gordie was well on form...and then Kelly Jones from the Stereophonics came on-stage and sang Fiddler's Green. What can I say?

They finished with this song.

  • Well, I guess there's some truth in that - but don't take away all the credit! : )

Seriously, though... maybe I've seen a few too many truly dreadful clips over the years. Actually, as the technology improves still further, it'll be interesting to see if any bands/venues stop allowing them in.

  • You're too kind...but right...no point in recording a gig on a phone or the equivalent, and then post it on YouTube...it's woeful. I use a Canon A650 with an 8GB card@640x480 NORMAL mode (ie not LP) and it records a bloody decent video clip @ 30fps.

Only problem with this set up is that you cannot use the optical zoom after you start recording: only digital zoom.

Also helps they used "white" light for this song, which helps exposure and ISO.

Check out my U2 videos which also came out well.

  • Pleasantly surprising, decent quality - nice little points-of-view changes - and great Gordism captures. [Doffs cap] : )

  • "Gordism"...what a great word...sums him, and what he does, up nicely!!

Thanks for the compliments...but that close to the stage you can't help BUT take good shots with a half-decent camera with half-decent sound.
