A collaborative exhibition at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, CA, showcases paintings by Paul Davids and Russell Metzger. from Feb 8 thru April 30, 2014. These highly-textured works of art on wood and canvas contain a variety of clothing: jeans, shoes, t-shirts, and more. The viewer is dazzled by the ingenuity of these three-dimensional works. Russell prepares the background with dyes, resins and forms, then Paul executes the final layers with oil paints. These collaborators have had divergent careers that intersected in mid-life. Paul is a producer/director known for Marvel's original TRANSFORMERS TV shows and many TV movies; most recently "The Life After Death Project" (SyFy Channel 2013). He also co-wrote six STAR WARS novels for Lucasfilm. Russell was a Nashville musician who invented a process for creating artistic floors utilizing marble designs on concrete. He has adapted these skills to making art for the wall that has dynamic visual appeal. This video, with original music by Brian Lambert, gives an overview of this creative collaborative exhibition. We look forward to seeing you there!
