http://bit.ly/ykb983 Introducing the new PlayStation Phone known as Sony Ericsson Xperia Play - this is the full review by Phones 4u. Gameplay on a handset really has been taken to the next level using the might of the Playstation with a separate processor assigned specifically to take care of the video game element. This could be the start of a breakthrough for Sony Ericsson. With the success of Ninendo 3ds, the old PSP and a plethora of mobile game apps, handheld gaming is at the peak of popularity, making Sony's latest one of welcome timing. While it's not without criticism, the Xperia Play manages to be both gaming device and mobile phone (on Android) without compromising their strengths. Also watch out for upcoming Playstation portable game reviews.

  • what would be better a blackberry curve or nokia n8

  • @TheOfficialSCL Hi! This depends on what you want to use the phone for the most? Both have email and internet capabilities. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 has a qwerty keypad but the N8 is touch screen. The Nokia also comes with free sat nav and has a good camera and video capabilities too. The Blackberry will have BBM which is great if you have other friends with BlackBerry handsets. Make sure you go into store and have a demo of both handsets before you make up your mind!

  • how do you get 720p video i tryed it all and can only get 480p

  • @xRJx720 Hi there, we've spoke to Sony who have checked for you and we can confirm that the handset does not support a 720p.

    Neil.

  • I heard that the screen brightness is bad. so is this true?

  • @RuuuBAAH Hey there, we haven't noticed a problem... Why not go into your local Phones 4u store and ask for a demo of the handset, you can check the screen brightness before you purchase one!

  • why promote stoke in a phone review?

  • @xRJx720 its a hd camera

  • the original PlayStation controller never had 2 front triggers or thumb sticks, this man has not done his research :P

  • hi,

can you listen to your music and play the games at the same time ?

  • @xXVenumosXx that is not true, the phone doesn't break easily, if you enjoy old retro games then it is perfect because you can use the buttons on all emulators, so you can play NES,SNES,Gameboy, gameboy colour, gameboy advance, n64 atari...... i could go on , it runs all android apps very smooth and the xplay exclusives are nice as well, i highly recommend.

  • CMON THE STOKE!!! getting this phone soon, if it breaks on me i am gonna flip out and go for microsoft instead of sony!

  • went into orange today and it feels really bad... then i went to phones 4 u, 3 and o2 none of them stocked it because they basically said it's terrible, breaks alot and they only had like 4 sales. So now im debating what to get.. =P

  • is it the same price in store as on the website?

  • @Hollenvaen It's average at both functions, hybrid devices are always pointless.

  • @EpicFlyingCat And why is it pointless?
