"Playing With A Different Sex", 1981. I've seen comments about rpm issues, with this Au Pairs song particularly, after it was transferred to CD. Well here it is from the vinyl's mouth, from my recently rediscovered record collection. And right enough, I thought the version on my recently bought Anthology CD was a bit tame !

  • Just real quality in my opinion. Had this album when I lived in Exeter in the late 70's early 80's and thought it brilliant work. Sound so culled, lyrics so passionately harsh and that razor blade guitar, a real work of genius for me.

  • @PebbleStudio

    I couldn't agree more.

  • @roddy76to86 I have spent the night looking at what I consider key moments of music in my own life. The question it left me with is why is there such a dearth in popular "culture" (using word advisedly) today? Consumerism seems like a virus that has eroded values. When customers pepper spray each other and fight for a RETRO repro of trainers then the world has gone insane.

  • This is what i call "music".

  • still have the 7" of this gem, thanks for posting.

  • it's paradise, now that's paradise

  • what a pleasure to find new goooooooood music!! thank you!!!

  • @furakkueroru I think you are an idiot, but you don't make good bands. What's your excuse?

  • What teen girl or boy with a guitar who loved the au pairs didnt learn that riff??? Ahhh, I loved this time period and this music. I saw them at the Pep in NYC. They went on so damn late and I remember waiting and being so dead (and drunk from grapefruit and vodka, strange how I remember that). Ahh, youth.

  • my earliest childhood!!! totally underrated <3 <3 merci beaucoup! I always liked the way she sings "by myseLLLf"...
