keep this video up my friend

I will, Mr. Murrow is still a voice that needs to be heard.

  • I'm glad this still gets views. No one is doing this these days. Our recent history, these days, evaporates as soon as it happens.

  • ercjncpr ,

I found this set at a library sale. I think I paid two dollars for it.

  • chronicremorse, There are nine more sides to this volume, I plan to eventually post them all.

  • I had an album with songs about Spiderman...and it was waaaay better than it needed to be

  • This isn't a real radio transcription disc....they went at about 12 rpm and could get a half-hour of news if you didn't hifi

  • I used to have those 78rpm records.

  • My parents gave me this album during the late 1960s, when I was in grade school. I can't begin to estimate how many times I played it:) --

  • The reason the original "78" album set [5 12-inch records, 10 sides in all- later issued on 33 "LP"] sold so well was because Arthur Godfrey "plugged" the album on his daily CBS radio show; when he heard an "advance copy", especially the section where he tearfully described President Roosevelt's funeral procession in April 1945, he teared up again and listened to the full album, heartily endorsing it on the air.

  • I relinquished this 1st edition 78rpm album years ago, convinced Sony would

soon re-issue it on CD. To this day, nope.

  • Murrow was a great pioneer of broadcast jouranlism -- and good heavens, what a voice and what a splendid speaker -- with what success he uses rhythm and vowels --
