Dead give-away was the ears and color. The Kathiawari is the only other horse that has those ears but have never seen a nukra one. Besides, no dorsal stripe or leg markings like on most Kathiawari.

First of all, they do their best. The white horses or Nukra are considered holy and the only person supposedly allowed to ride them are religious figures. Black horses are considered bad luck, representing death. Only if they have white markings are they kept. Piebald and Skewbald patterns are preferred but they come in a range of colors. Black, grey, bay, nukra, dun, palomino, chestnuts, sorrels, perlinos, etc.
