Neat little shot, David, hope you are well! Cheers!

@michaelcadilhac Try it - depending on the exact angle and especially distance of the object ball off the rail (also worth trying if/when the OB is glued right on/under the rail), the target is bigger because, if one DOES hit that third rail just before the ball, the cue ball has less tendency to bounce "away" from it. That's also why this type of kick is lower-percentage were the OB farther away from the rail (in which case one is better off shooting straight down the table with a little side).

@BlackjackDSapolis Thanks! I'm not sure why, but I still feel this is safer than the 1 rail kick. I'll have to try :)

And why is is safer than just kicking with one rail?

@michaelcadilhac - it's not safer - like I said, it's more of a trick shot - not something I'd shoot in a match. I learned this shot when I needed a 3 rail kick in banks - it's actually a 2-way shot if you hit it right because you hide the cue ball behind the pocket point. It takes some practice, but once you get a feel for it, the shot becomes automatic - locking the cue ball behind the point takes a little more practice. It's a good one to know - but strictly for trick shot purposes only.
