This handmade poplar wood dugout canoe was made by members of the Stafford County Virginia Patawomeck Tribe. This, it's first use, was on June 17th in the Rappahannock River at Fredericksburg Virginia. In all probability this is the first time in near 300 years that a Native paddler took to the Rappahannock in a dugout canoe.

  • Looks increadibly fast! Excellent work.

  • .................Beautiful................

  • Good stuff....This is the kind of stuff I like seeing from the Va and NC area tribes...keeping the "Original" tradtions alive and well....too many tribes are throwing away the "Original" ways and replacing them with new age ways or "Borrowing" traditions from tribes out west. 5 stars for this video, from the Collins family, Descendants of the Manahoac and Saponi tribes of Orange county Va, Spotsylvania county Va, and Charlottesville county Va.

  • can i jump in the river? no. why not? lol!
