  • Any experience with Hults Bruks or Ox head axes?

  • @Mrclancy6969

I'm afraid not. The newer Ox Head axes are definitely unique though, I wouldn't mind having one!

  • Where are you in mass? I'm near there. great vid

  • @trevor6744

    I live in Bedford.

  • Really great presentation. Loved your axes, thanks for sharing. I had a question on the Nordlund Hudson Bay Axe, I heard that the newer ones have crappy tempering. If you have any information on this, Please share.

  • @faultroy

Norlund hasn't been made in at least twenty years, probably closer to thirty. If you find one of those in good shape you probably won't have any temper problems.

A lot of new manufactured axes have poor temper. One company that is still trying to put out a decent affordable product is Council tool. They make a couple of different versions you should look at.

  • sick axe collection

  • If you want an Ox Head, you can google "Bahco." one source in the USA that I am familiar with is currently selling Bahcos that I understand are actually produced by Ox Head and the price is pretty reasonable. I'd give the name but from what I understand, it is inappropriate to mention a URL.

  • @bleedingpatriot2009 Shame on me. I was actually thinking of the Snow & Neally's brand of Hudson's Bay Axe. It was they that I remember had temper issues. I've heard from a number of sources that Council makes a decent axe. Thanks for the correction--I hate it when people give wrong info.

  • You have SOME axes, this is true.

  • Loving this video. I've come to believe that the decline in the use of axes has lead to what I was listening to this morning--neighbor with a chainsaw. Those noisy things do have their place, but what he was doing this morning could have been accomplished with much quieter tools.
