Shunned even by the victims of apartheid, black albinos in the new South Africa continue the daily struggle of living their lives.

Human Geneticist, Jennifer Kromberg, is acutely aware of the problems faced by these social "aliens". Skin problems, cancer, eye disease and impotence are everyday ordeals when you're an albino. Often sent to schools for the handicapped or blind, albinos find themselves marginalized within a society already facing hardship. Having recently discovered the chromosomes responsible for this genetically inherited anomaly, scientists can now detect the exact defective gene. Anthony Ngwenga, of the Albino Organisation, helps these misfits assimilate themselves into society by organising seminars to banish myths that albinos are the product of incest or unable to die properly. Young mother, Mamoketi, cuddles her pale two year old son who wears a blue sunhat to protect against the harsh UV rays. With no albinos in her family, she was "shocked" when she gave birth to one. But hopefully with this new awareness campaign, her son's life will be easier than that of previous albino sufferers.

However, we should try to throw the myth out of the water on one generational incest being so devastating, when it usually isn't. In fact, science indicates as there are more positive recessive genes than negative recessive genes, it may in fact be more beneficial (statistically speaking). However, I would insist heavy that Blacks and Whites should crossbred endlessly until everyone looks like Obama.

And that might in fact lead to a lot of the deformities we saw in Dynastic Families like the Haspburgs who starts to develop elongated heads, chins, and body parts. But this is due to a lack of gene flow from a continuous incest. In other words, if your mommy is your sister and your grandmother is her sister and her mother is her sister and her father was her brother and ect... ect... to about a good six of seven generations, you'll see some crazy shit like the Austrian Haspburgs.

But the truth of the matter is recessive traits only have a 50 percent, not a 100 percent chance of showing up in a matter concerning incest and are extremely rare. Roughly one out of a million people has such a recessive gene or something similar in their DNA. The Royal Family which are of Hanover, Frankish, Danish, Norwegian, and Celtic (Scottish and Welsh) descent were just unlucky. What is really a concern of incest is mutation from lack of gene flow, not recessive genes.

Incest can lead to greater numbers of partial albinos, but not true albinos. True albinism actually has more to do with the environment than it does with recessive traits, since it isn't really a fact or recessiveness as the entire DNA chain is damaged, which is what leads to total complete albinism as well as being infertile..

You see complete albinism is not a direct relation to an absence to melanin concentration, but indirectly. Complete albinism is absolute genetic damage and is a result of a mutation caused to a zygote during the process of Multi-cellular division, which creates an embryo. The complete genetic damage leads to loss and complete loss might I add of melanin. Partial albinism is a direct relation to melanin concentrate on one particular trait (usually hair or skin).

Albinism is not caused by incest. Albinos (actual ones) cannot reproduce.

What is called partially albinos, in which one particular trait appears albinized and not another is an entirely different thing, known as hypomelanism, as opposed true albinism called amelanism, are also people who can contribute a recessive trait down to the next generation, since it only affects hair or eyes, but not their entire and is entirely different from complete albinism.

@ukusapillage ahhaha n importe quoi! gene dont enable u to turn white when the weather changes.the skin of an albino has no pigmentation..but ive alwasy thought albinos were seen as either devils or gods, black african drove white man to hide in caves or sat on egypt s throne..spreading to asia and europe. i agree on the latter of your hypothesis. first phrase is funny tough. id love to change color with the weather

albinos have the gene that enables them to turn white if the weather changes and its funny because its south africa hat has more albinos south a is more cool then rest of africa, and its the birth place of mankind and birthplace of migration of one specific tribe north that give birth to asians and europeans
