Poor little boy! Exactly when he has his 1st great solo performance in singing Bach, he gets a cold :(
-
The soloist here is great and I don't really care from what "sound" he came from, since the bottom line is quality and that good people is what you are hearing in this video. Thanks for posting :-)

I do wish people would not rubbish singers they don't like! It usually just shows ignorance.I love the Libera sound, but you can't compare the electronically smoothed and manipulated ambiance to a choir that sings music of far greater technical demand, live, as the Tolzers do.If you want evidence of Bergius's great singing investigate the Tolzer's wonderful contribution to Harnoncourt's Bach cantata recordings. The Tolzers were and remain one of the world's best boy choirs.

In the world of treble singers, there is the English choral sound (like libera's and anthony way's" and there is the more german choral sound. This boy is a great representitive of the latter, and the two are quite different from each other.
Comomon characteristics in a good singer, regardless of tone: pitch, rhythm, phrasing. Comparing Libera to the Tolzers is a little like comparing Chinese opera to Western European opera: apples and oranges.
I happen to like both styles.
