I guess because they want the people that only watch the movies, (BLEHHS) to have the feeling of betrayal from Snape just as we all had when we read the book. Including this scene will ... give too much clue away

This scene is so simple yet captures so epically everything that has happened and that will happen. I can't believe it! whoever made the decision to cut this deserves a kick!!!

@xFirebird925x I thought perhaps the idea was that Snape is 'caged' in a sense. He's captive to his past and his love for Lily, etc. so the birds in the cages might somehow remind us of that? Thanks :) Harry Potter fans are nice people.
