In 1982, while working at Universal studios as a publicity and marketing specialist in the horror and science fiction genre, Mick Garris produced and hosted this 26 minute roundtable discussion between David Cronenberg, John Carpenter and John Landis. All three were working on projects at Universal at the time and this piece was originally created for Universal promotional purposes.

  • At 1:25 David Cronenberg predicts the invention of the PG-13 rating.

  • The scene from American Werewolf is much better made then todays high technological computer graphics they put into films. You can feel and see how much art they hav put into these films. THIS lady's and gentlemen is much more realistic to look at. It's real movie magic!

  • killed griffin dunne.... not the last time you killed someone , cough.. vic morrow

  • American censorship (at that time at least) is stupid.

  • Amazing Interview....3 directors in the prime of there creativity!

  • I really like john landis (can you NOT find the blues brothers awesome ?), but you gotta admit that his horror films aren't of the same caliber as carpenter's. And cronenberg, he's one of my favorite directors, but his films really have nothing to do with these two's. Pretty awkward reunion.

  • @nonplayerzealot4 Ed Burns??? The actor and director? I don't think so! Ed Burns is hot!

  • @Karosanyo Remember though that this was 1982 and that was the style back then. LOL

  • Very cool idea and video: 3 of horror's best and most known directors together. :)

  • Too bad they don't show a scene from Videodrome...or any Cronenberg movie for that matter...

  • why doesnt cronenberg film in the U.S?

  • David Cronenberg has to be a genius. I love just hearing him speak.
