The Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum has the goal of preserving the heritage of the soldiers of WWII, with special emphasis on those who trained at Camp Gordon Johnston. The individuals who fought for Democracy during WWII shaped the world in which we live, and it is the mission of this museum that these men and women and their accomplishments not be forgotten by the young people of today. Roughly seventy two million people lost their lives in this conflict, and this needs to be remembered. For this purpose we seek a location to house this history. In March 2008 land was purchased for this museum building.
