@painin2teeth Obama's campaign was child's play compared to the Bush campaigns of 1988, 2000, and 2004. Do the "Willie Hortan" ads ring a bell? Or the ads ran during the 2000 primary race that said McCain fathered an illigitamite Black Child? Let's also not forget the swift boat veterans ads against Kerry in 2004.

I might also add that the totally unnecessary fire bombing of enemy cities after we had already achieved victory was heinous; the putting of an entire Japanese-American population into detention centers, most whom were loyal American patriots; his ignoring of the German atrocities against minorities; his meddling AND PROLONGING the Great Depression as a result; his expansion of the Presidency into an almost dictatorial branch of the government. No Truman, but awful.
