Wow. That's amazing to realize at 17 years old. I am amazed at your intelligence. I'm just speechless! I hope by now you are converted by the orthodox community!

Check out Karaite...cast off the man-made traditions.

The wife of one of my brothers converted to Judaism (from Catholicism) quite a long time ago. She said it was quite a challenge. She wanted the kids to be Jews. Well many years later they have kids who are somewhat religious although they identify with a lot with Jewish culture.
BTW, my sister is law is a First Nations woman. The kids look like white skinned, blue eyed, blond, prairie natives. Very attractive mix.

@ipwnnewbs50 Do you think you should really DROP the idea and/or leaving your family? There are other options, trust me. You shouldn't stress about becoming apart in the community. Stressing out isn't desirable and if the Rabbi feels that conversion isn't wholehearted or if it will cause family conflict or a rip, then he won't conduct it. There are other options....

My mom converted to Judiasm, and loved it, Orthodox of course. But she is not Orthodox, and what did she create? Me! and i intend on keeping all of the Mitzvos speedily in our days, since my parents arent Religious i cant really, but Ive gone to a Jewish School for a while, i know the process is not easy and you definetly dont have to do it, bless you for being a Noahide, but if its youre course in life, and it will make you happy, sometimes we have to sacrifice a little for good things :)

Are going to have to get your (you know) cut?
I guess if you had it done before it won't be as horrible the second time, but really?
That can't be too fun.

And once i do i will listen to his instruction on these matters. My advice would be to hold off on the kippa, (which i think i may do myself) but strive for the commandments as much as possible.
p.s. hope i didn't come off as a jerk in my first two comments. i'm reading them right now, and i may sound a little condescending. Honestly that wasn't my intention if you got that. I was just in a rush to leave for work and i wanted to put in some input.
All the best.
Will your new house be within a Sabbath walking distance of the synagogue?

No it will not.
I can't believe this could entirely disqualify me for conversion.
I guess I really am going to have to either drop the idea altogether or live on my own.

Oh, also, once you take up the idea of converting to Orthodox Judaism, you aren't supposed to drop it for any reason, assuming you truly understand how much it will change your life.
Stay positive. There are no laws forbidding you from living within a Sabbat walking distance of a synagogue, after all.

Have you seen geoasher's video on 'transitional judaism?' What are your thoughts on it? I suppose that would be a good start in the meantime, keeping torah without the actual conversion. Actually, I think i'm going to make a video on this topic.
