@uropenbook this entire flat landscape is salt. It is the size of Zurich. Millions of years ago, this place was an acean, then the planet twisted and the water was cut and the salt remained as sediment, the salt is 8 feet deep. The value in this site is not even the landscape or salt but the lethium deposits. Uyuni accounts for 60% of the world's lithium to manufacture batteries for cars, cell phones and computers/tablets.
