Every day in this house seems the same
I wanna go where no-on knows my name
I hope I never led you to believe that
The day would never come when I would leave
This is no way to say goodbye
But I never was good at telling lies

These four walls are closing in on me
Is this the way that life's supposed to be?
Sitting in each day on my own
Just waiting for you to come home
I never meant to cause you any pain
But I never want to see this place again

It doesn't matter what you say
Cos I'm already on my way
Look for me tomorrow and I'll be gone
Dancing with the working man
Looking for the big rock candy mountain
Rolling down the hillside in the sun

And whatever you decide to do
I hope the sun will always shine on you
By the time you see things my way
I'll be halfway down the highway
One day darling you will see
You'll smile when you remember me

It doesn't matter what you say etc

  • You're right, diddlywinkz, it often takes exposure on a film or tv soundtrack to reach a wider audience. Thanks for the comments and ratings, everyone!

  • I once supported them in Edinburgh along with The Vultures in 1988! I think I was so nervous I got drunk on cider and joy-rides, it's all a blur now!

  • Got here from Talulah Gosh which I got to from the book Nirvana The True story. Love following the trail

  • Does anyone know where I can contact bassist Eddie Conolley of this band? His contribution to indie has been sorely overlooked! He was Adorable's manager, but so hard to find!

  • I also saw them support The Mary Chain on the Barbed Wire Kisses tour or was it Darklands The Fizzbombs also played Jim Reid was wrecked!!!

  • a classic

  • an absolute belter and no mistake!!!!

annie on late sunday evenings (radio 1) classic; still sounds awesome! great sound quality!!!

  • Saw them live in 86/87 supporting the jesus and mary chain and thought they played much better, although the mary chain's drum machine kept cutting out.

  • @v3getableman,
