Women speak out over many years of systematic human rights violations including rape by state armed forces and authorities particularly those in ethnic areas.
SPDC personnel cover up their crimes by using threats, intimidation and punishment to obtain false testimonies and statements from witnesses and even rape survivors.
Some Recommendations:
•The state must admit their use of rape as a weapon of war
•Steps should be taken immediately to bring an end to these practices
•Commanding officers must be held accountable
for the offenses committed by their soldiers
•The international community must establish an investigation team
to carry out a thorough inquiry into the perpetrators in the army.
•The heads of the state military must be referred to ICC
for the crimes committed by their army
