  • I wanted the little guy to win! hah.

I don't know if you mention this before, but how are you watching nhk in the states? tv japan?

    do they broadcast it live?

  • yep - TV Japan in California, so they do show it live from midnight to 2am, then a replay show from 1:15 to 2pm the next day.

  • YEah! That was cool - 153 kg on this guy's back - must have hurt, they both looked like ballet dancers in the slow motion picture :)

  • Amazing! They both went for a throw, and it was just down to who holds their balance longer... Very close and fun to watch match

  • That was crazy, Toyonoshima looked like he had him with that throw. Usually the one with the leg pushing up on the other guy is the one who wins. Real determination by Kotooshu to keep his balance mid throw and do more of a crushing kimarite than a throw.

  • Yay, Kotooshu moves to 7-1. Glad to see he is doing so well in this basho. I don't know if the landing on the head hurt worse than the twisting of the arm. Kotooshu had his arm in a tight grip and looks like he could've twisted it on the way down by accident. Painful throw. Anyways, hope Kotooshu continues to do well. =)

  • right on! i'm in socal too.

  • wow nice match

  • Looked a bit like a like a greco-roman style throw, which isn't surprising considering Kotooshu's background. Interesting match.

  • that was an amazing match, thought he was going to break his arm doing that. Kotooshu all the way man

  • well played by Kotooshu, cold blood in that moment
