We caught up with Matt Damon at Comic-Con in San Diego to talk about his new film 'Elysium', What drew him to the film, working with director Neill Blomkamp, the challenges of bringing a huge world to life on screen, what message they hope people will take from the story and what the metaphor of the story is.

D9 was written and directed by a South African. Filmed in South Africa. If you live here, you'll understand how easy it is for people to turn into aliens. The whole South African government is run by Aliens. They must be, as they have no earthly sense of what the fuck's going on in the world! I live in Johannesburg and D9 was almost a blow by blow documentary of our daily lives ;-)

ok, you're kind of right there. the action in inception and tdk was phenomenal. but in tdkr his story-telling got in the way of the action, and made me dislike this movie very, very much.

there may be truth in that, but i wasnt talking about plot more about entertainment. making a movie serious, gritty, exciting and real.

nolan is waaaaaaaaaaaay overrated. all he's doing, is having his characters explaine the whole plot, so the viewers don't need to follow the plot.

This is from the same director that made piles of shit like: district 9, stargate and smallville. Should have left this idea to Chris Nolan.

How did you find it hard to compare? It wasn't to be taken in a literal sense, hence why it's called a metaphor.

If you have your own reasons for just thinking the film is "alright", that's cool. I'm fine with that. However, some of us are struggling to understand the context of your statements.
