Yeah ive gone to fishing exclusively with ultra light tackle when fishing for bream. It intensifies the bite/fight. Another really fun way to catch em is with beetle spins. Gives it more of a bass style of fishing. For fun by sheer numbers I don't know if there is a more fun way to fish.

Pair these so called "small fish" up with an ultra light rod and reel, and you will understand the power these little fish possess. As far as consistency and fun go, you can't ask for a day of catching 50 gills on ultra light tackle. Especially when they are on bed.
