Such happy memories of listening to these great gospel songs,on the radio and in church. My mom and I walked to church morning and night and somehow I didn't mind.I knew better !!! (LOL) Thanks for sharing these great gospel songs, that made you sing along, clap your hands, pat your feet.
@overseerjackson I remember one sunday afternoon in 1957, in NYC, children, i wish you could have been there. That gal Ruth. carried on like a woman possessed! by the holy ghost on fire. The church was rocking from side to side. black folks, white folks, men women, the young and the old, were carrying on like it was a shin dig. Child it was truly a thrill. and oh yes, i was one of the major ones doing the shouting holy ghost walk! Hehehehe..
Those were the glory days - when they sang chills ran up your spine and folks ran to the altar crying out for forgiveness. Ruth was beyond awesome! What an awesome talent God had entrusted to them. Such fond memories!
A while back there was a video of the Davis Sisters doing a much faster version of this song in the studio. Does anyone know if that version was ever officially released, either on record or asw a video? I would love to get ahold of a copy.
