Women in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to drive.
We the Women is a campaign that aims to raise the issue publicly in order to start a real conversation about it.
This video demonstrates the use of the We the Women declaration bubble. To download your own and express your opinion please visit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/36722661@N06/sets/72157616535018930/

  • @emochuu if you really want tangible progress, read my post carefully and stop wasting time with useless comments on this channel...there are good reasons why it has so few views after all this time.

  • @SandZakUSrcU Islam is oppressive, like all religions that started over 1000 years ago. It says women can be beaten under some circumstances, that a womans main role is to have kids etc. Sharia law puts the witness of a woman at 1/2 the worth of a male witness. Men oppress women, but on the grounds of religion.

  • @crazycars2 How can it fix itself from the "roots up" when women can't vote or speak out? Who are you to tell them to wait? Female police in every other country get by just fine.

  • You ladies are my heros

  • who will protect the female police from abuse? they wont be carrying guns to protect themselves otherwise there wont be any men left on the road!

This is a cultural issue and can only be resolved from the roots up. Top-down policy would fail and this channel is a waste of time.

Go, finish your education, get married, have kids, educate them and the next generation might be able to drive...if you are any good as a parent!

Thank yourselves (d ppl) & not the government for what u have now.

  • Great job! You remind us of the brave women in the past that had to do fight this kind of stupidity.

  • Even though I believe this is a nondebatable issue, I think debating in itself is a taboo in Saudi. So this campaign is really taking two big leeps for a society struggling to move forwards.

  • It's so strange that Islam was the first religion to ensure women's rights and today women aren't even allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia. Islam doesn't opress women, men opress women.

  • Women there are treated like garbage. It is like they are third-class citizens and beyond. Really sad that they don't have any rights at all. Thanks to the dumb government.

  • I wish my sisters could drive safely in saudi arabia but for that t shabab needs to be really learn how to behave specially the naughty one the should treat everyone equally which i dont see there as far as you have wasta you can do what so ever you want the law is for the poor and helpless

my only concern is few things first

better roads, youth, female police, trainning schools
