@philipmarie1854 The series is over fifteen years old.
It's fair game by now.

@hotelmario510 Er, spoilers? While its interesting, very so, please put spoiler tags. Please? Do you know how many times a film has been spiled for me just by reading TV Tropes? I wanted to watch Cowboy Bebop yet now that I know the ending. Still, I'll watch it. They say its one of the best written anime EVER and I LOVE Neon Genesis Evangelion. Its up there with Watchmen, Song of Ice and Fire and Harry Potter in my favorite fiction works (True Devotion to Mary being my favorite book ever:) )

Very beautiful arrangement with the strings, not a fan of the voice though.

@ShardsofFun haha me 2. i was so mesmerized by it when i heard it during the credits but still this is better than the original one cuz of the melancholic emotional feel for me. perfect for the best anime ever...neon genesis evangelion i love you

@PumpkinMau5 Think of it as a play on words.

@DanielL5583 The correct translation is Anchor though.
This is gonna sound extremely stupid, but it took me a good while to figure out that this song didn't originate from the Neon Genesis ending credits.

@Punk7680 Gendo Ikari is a manipulative bastard and a coward, who hurts and rejects his son just to be with his wife again. He's not a badass at all. He's really quite pathetic underneath his hard-faced exterior (as we see in End of Evangelion, in which he falls to his knees and begs Rei not to go against him in the most wretched voice he can muster).
