This is one of my all-time favorite movies, thanks to Richard Farnsworth who portrayed Alvin Straight in such a subtle and heartfelt way that it moved me to tears and literally made my heart ache...

That was beautifully put together. Anyone who would question why some of us live in the midwest only need watch this beautiful movie for an answer. Wonderful job on this reprise!!!

Look at closely at Farnsworth's face...the history of 20th century America is written there. He personifies that which is best about America: quiet strength, guts, gritty determination, compassion, honesty, and self-reliance. May he rest in peace.
