  • moons have been scaring me lately. after that whole "super moon" thing last month i've been holding my breath when i look at the sky. this all began after i finished reading the book 'the way we used to live.'

    greetings from rainy portland, oregon

  • @owlphanumeric My love for ominous music might contradict the fact that the moon really was in rejoicing mode, no planes above, days of undisturbed skies. I tried to google that book, but couldn't find it. Makes me happy to see a comment from you, Callie. I hope Portland treats you so well.

  • @chevkoch the book is actually called "life as we knew it." i blame my brain-fog on the baby in my belly. He's stealing all my brain power.

  • @owlphanumeric Ah, thanks. Now I've learned of theft under fortunate circumstances. All the high-grade best to you guys.

  • @fehquig As if the whole firmament would take a breath of relief. When night fell, no blinking lights from planes, just moon and stars and clouds. It takes a volcano to contemplate how much this modern life has come to rely on a ridiculous amount of aviation.

  • Quiet...

  • @fancynot ...and not a plane in the sky. Isn't it interesting, from an environmental angle, how the definition of Vulcan as god of both beneficial and hindering fire reads in the context of this event?
