@jjboggs43204 No. They cant do a 40 from a dead stop faster was my point. 40's time a dead stop to 40 yards, the NHL times skaters at their fastest. Much different set up. So, before we start swearing up and down that NHL is faster overall, its very similar. The fastest timed human was just under 27mph but a much quicker first 40. but im sure you know that.
@Nugent4Heisman Very much untrue about speed. A very good 40-yard for a receiver is about 4.4 which means they're going just over 18 MPH. The fastest NHL player can skate 30 MPH without the puck in the annual skill competition. That would mean a 40-yard dash in less than 3 seconds (which no player can do).
@Nugent4Heisman haha this is the dumbest argument come on man like they are both professional athletes they both go fast as fuck and they both have the potential of destroying people, caring about that is like caring which inlaw to like better....who cares
You're wrong here. A football player running a 4.4 40yd dash is faster than the quickest timed skate r in the NHL. Boards don't necessarily mean more impact, just more force from the opposite side (and since checking is minimal in common, its irrelevant). Hockey players are dicks, not glamorous though. SOME football players are pretty boys. I don't know why you are discussing fighting... football players don't fight. I'd love to see zdeno chara catch a ball or block a linebacker...idiot.
@Nugent4Heisman you have to be kidding me, "very little physicality"? 1. hockey players skate faster than fball players run=higher impact hits 2. boards+hits=bigger hits than fball 3. hockey players are generally humble and respect their opponent, fball players are over celebrating pre-madonnas (see terell owens, deion sanders) and its pathetic. 4. lets see a fball player drop the gloves with zdeno chara or derek boogaard.
So your against in basketball too I assume? Also, college hockey doesnt lack any physicality or anything....You've obviously never seen the likes of Zach Pelletier. And if your getting on OSU for their lights out, then I'm sure your against the Blue Jackets and all the extra hoopla they put into their show or any other NHL team, but I forgot that is the "real game"
so because a lot do it, its not lame? its turning off the lights.. wow.. exciting. College hockey in general is weak. Too limited and very little physicality compared to the real game. hockey should be fun cuz its hockey... not because they hit a light switch
What do you mean? how is it lame? I think it's pretty cool, a lot of teams do it... Whats it hurting anyone to get a little pumped up before the game? OSU does have 35 other sports besides football. I'm a die hard for both teams and I see no reason why you cant put a lot of effort into making hockey fun to go to.
