@Brusamer So true! The Washington Post recently did an article -- they commented on how ballet dancers these days are so focused on having the Balanchine skinny, wiry bodies, and are not as good actors as ballerinas used to be. Too much focus on technique, but not enough on expression and character!

@Brusamer Umbelievably True! Couldnt agree more! =) Better to have a great interpretation, that to have a machine do some acrobatics! =) I even put a thumbs up for your comment! =) Gotta love old fashion people! =)

Yelena's characterization here is so enticing. She shows us a fragile & vulenerable, yet at the same time so charming abducted slave girl.
I love her & cherish this performance forerver!!!

yes she's so delicate!!!! Love her!!!!!
nowdays ballet is all about piruettes and extensions, and feets. some ppl think u are not good enought if u dont make 5 or 8 piruettes, maybe i am old fashion but i like to think ballet is about dance and make the audience believe u are the caracter u are actually playing and this girl here is not completely perftect about her tecnique when u talk about piruettes, but she makes u feel her role and how she enjoys dancing... really well done!!
