One of the last things you would expect to see on TV in Pakistan is a transvestite host tackling issues Muslim society would prefer to ignore. But Ali Saleem, Pakistan's Dame Edna, is in her element.

"I am going to be the biggest Diva this country has ever produced!" Ali Saleem proclaims. In the guise of a snobby middle age dame, Saleem hosts one of Pakistan's most cutting edge TV shows. She flirts with the guests, asking questions few would dare to. As Saleem admits; "I push the boundaries very hard".

  • @RayKalmNiam Pakistan did not have a female head of state. They had a female head of government. There is a difference.

  • Hizra republic of paGAYistan

  • @Homoholic More Americans have killed their sons, daughters, family members than Pakistan, yesterday just in one day.

  • @RayKalmNiam

No, I'm quite sure I'm not the only one who thinks Pakistan is a backward and BARBARIC country.

The latest news: Pakistani muslim father kills his six daughters while the rest of the family watches, because TWO of them "dishonoured" the family by ALLEGEDLY having "relations" with some boys. To any sane person in the West this kind of "honour killing" is BARBARIC and EVIL and BACKWARD! And this is just one of hundreds of examples.

  • @prinzbeat Thanks Switzerland!

  • @bluecanvas2 Yes, it's very common. Pakistan was ruled by the British when it was a part of India. I am a Pakistani living in Pakistan, so I can tell you this with certainty. English is VERY common here.
