  • why dont you like the clear and green bottles?

  • @LouTheMetalhead Clear and green bottles let more UV light through the bottle, thus there is a greater chance of "light strike" which will skunk your beer.

  • @elharlock oh.. i never thought of that! Im pretty new to serious beer drinking. I love it! Ive tried almost all the local breweries around Vancouver BC. Granville Island and Nelson BC are the two best ones that ive had so far. You do great reviews and ive got some Kilkenny right now, I like it, just dont really understand the plastic ball in the can!

  • @LouTheMetalhead Some beers are called "nitro" beers because they contain those little plastic widgets in them. Essentially they release nitrogen gas that has been held in the widget which causes any dissolved carbon dioxide to bubble up giving you a thicker, more creamy head that lasts longer. The idea is to replicate getting the beer off tap. They sort of hit the mark. Either way it's a really nice effect.

  • @elharlock Cool! I was pretty happy with the Kilkenny.. I also picked up 4 bottles of Innis & Gunn Original because they had some promotional deal where if you buy 4 you get a free glass... got pretty drunk last night. lol

  • @LouTheMetalhead No doubt. All of the Innis & Gunn beers I've had have been 6% or over.

  • My favourite beer, theres nothing else like it - I voted for it when it won at the 2004 beer festival (one of the awards on the bottles label).

  • Don't know why people are having a go at the guy for I drink this all the time and he has just described it perfectly people need to chill :o)

  • I also had my worst drunk on boiler makers. Went from sober to loaded in 2.2

  • This beer is fantastic!

  • Innis and Gunn have their own YouTube channel, it is: InnisAndGunnBeer. They have an interesting film about how they "discovered" whiskey beer

  • This beer certainly has a unique taste, but it just too damn sweet for me.

  • I am drinking one just now while watching a view reviews about it.. Its a very fine beer on the nose and the taste buds..

  • Good review. I just had my first one last night. Very interesting flavours. Complex. But, because I'm not a whiskey guy AT ALL, I couldn't get past the first half glass. But, that is personal taste; not bashing the beer at all - seems well crafted.

  • I'm hooked on this stuff now!! , had my first last night and don't think I will be changing brews for a while..... Youmpay for quality and this stuff is worth it... Non of that mass brewed bullshit beer!!

  • My favourite, too bad it's $2.5 / bottle in sweden.

  • Fantastic beer!

  • I've tasted over 300 different beers, and this is still the best I've ever had.
