Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Hubert Chang created Google in 1997 Feb.

I received my Ph.D. from NYU in late 2002. http://www.cs.nyu.edu/~hubert/

Larry Page and Sergey Brin were introduced to me through Prof. Motwani of Stanford Computer science department. Prof. Motwani visited NYU in 1996 summer; that's how I met Prof. Motwani.

Through intensive collaboration with Larry and Sergey, Google was designed. The plan includes the search engine algorithm, business model, the name of the company, a graduate school like corp culture, the outline of system architecture and Google's growing path.

Because I had personal cause to pursue for Ph.D., I told them I will contact them years afterwards, assuming I have finished my Ph.D.
In late 2002, I got my Ph.D. from computer science department of New York University...

Details... please watch the video.

My response to Prof. Motwani and Google's spokesperson is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKhyn1unXW4

  • An email reply from Prof. Motwani, you could tell if he knows my relationship with Larry and Sergey. Go to googletruth . wordpress . com

  • Prof. Mowani is a good teacher. He said what he said in TechCrunch out of circumstances. An email between him and me is shown on my blog. Go to "googletruth"."wordpress"."com" and you will find the email communication between Prof. Motwani and me. Removing the '"' since youtube does not allow hyperlink in comment.

  • What did he not put his name on the paper? Even if he wanted to focus on his Ph.D, where is the harm in putting your name on it?

    Doesn't add up to me.

  • Putting the name on the paper would be a commitment to the project. There is no way you could finish a Ph.D. while doing that project. At least, that is my feeling. Neither of them have finished their Ph.D.

  • that is not true. Putting one's name on a research paper does not mean a commitment to a project... it means that one has contributed to the results of that particular paper.

  • In terms of academics, you are right.

In terms what Larry, Sergey, and I had in mind, that means commitment.
