Salo Description :

Name: Carlos Felipe Suarez Arvelo
Born: 1985
Country: Venezuela
City : Maracay
Website: http://www.redbullbcone.com/salo
Crews: Flying Legs Crew / Aborigenes de Venezuela

Coming from one of the strongest South American B-Boy countries, Venezuela, with his crew "Flying Legs," Carlos Felipe Suarez Arvelo aka SALO was one of the first South American B-Boys to participate in important European B-Boy Battles. His style is based on dynamic tricks & power moves.

SALO first discovered B-Boying in 2000, when he saw the movie "Delivery Boys." He was immediately hooked and started to dance in February 2001. For him every battle, crew or solo, means an opportunity to represent for his Country. While battling, he never holds back any of his skills but gives everything from the start. His style now is all around, he can do powermoves, tricks, foot works and top rocks and he have good musicality.

For SALO, a good B-Boy is one who stays true to the principles of breaking: It doesn't matter what his best moves are, he should execute them perfectly! He should enter the cypher, dance clean, and finish the dance off with a fresh freeze. watching the evolution of B-Boying is what most inspires him.

SALO does not come from a wealthy city. The family isn't poor, but they live close to a poverty stricken area. This has helped to make SALO an undemanding person. He is grateful for what he has in life especially for his talent. His family supports him in his B-Boy career even though they are worried that he'll get hurt.

SALO would love to make a living through dancing, but he knows it is difficult and there is a high risk of injury, so he wants to get his degree first. He is currently a student looking forward to finishing his Masters in Education so he can dedicate 100% of his time to B-Boying. He sees his life connected to Hip Hop forever and says that if he would ever have to stop dancing, he would still promote B-Boying and organize or judge events.

SALO sees Hip Hop as a culture of peace and unity. He thinks some people misunderstand its battle nature and try presenting it as a warlike gang culture. For him, Hip Hop gives people a chance to level the differences between them and be equal. Venezuela is not a wealthy country, but there are many dedicated kids who would give everything for Hip Hop.
