The South Korean city of Pyeongchang was awarded the 2018 Winter Olympics on Wednesday, taking the games to a new territory in Asia after failing in two previous attempts. (July 6)

@melonsushipan what do you expect from him? the IOC shunned Pyongyang's offer of a joint hosting. I mean, how the hell he can want one when he couldn't feed his own people well and act like a spoiled brat at the six-party talks?

@blahk04 As far as copying goes, that is done by smaller illegal operations, not by huge corporations. Plus, everything is a copy of something in the these days. China is quite open right now, it's not even considered a communist country anymore. It is slowly transitioning to full on democracy(or hopefully federalism, a country of that size can only be controlled successfully through federalism), you can't rush that kind of change. Also, without China, everything would be much more expensive.

@kkksskkk I'm not the least bit impressed by anything China does. Over 1 billion people and all they learned how to do so far is copy other nations' technology. They haven't even figured out that communism is a bad idea yet. China probably has a bright future, but for now, nothing special, besides giant population.
