App News: iPhone OS 3.0

This is an AppSource news clip giving an overview of the new features in iPhone and iPod Touch OS 3.0 which will be released this summer.

There will be improvements to the tools developers can use when creating applications. In app purchases will allow users to buy things within an app using their iTunes account details. Peer to peer connectivity will allow two iPhones to connect over bluetooth and share data, this will be most useful for multi-player games. Push notifications will give you notifications for an app even when it is turned off. This will be useful for instant messaging apps, for example getting a message when someone wants to talk to you even when the app is closed.

There will also be changes to the general software on the device. Cut, copy and paste has been added for all text, a new application for recording voice memos will be added to the homescreen of all iphones and ipod touches and a spotlight feature on the homescreen will allow you to search your entire device.

hehe why iphone free and ipod 10$??? not fair... but firmware 3.0 for ipod is already avaible on internet (free download) so why they still trying to get money from it..if people are smart they just download it somewhere else *-)
