  • Hi, looks very nice. My production process is extremely similar to yours except I have a T962 reflow oven instead of a skillet.

    The timber looks very nice.

My DIY machine uses Mach 3 instead of EMC but I'm sure its very similar.

  • @gravelrashdotcom Thanks. Are you using camera for positioning? This is the only reason I went with EMC. Camview has crosshairs and I couldn't find a cam app for windows with crosshairs.

  • @anajonesr

Yes I have a downward camera on the moving gantry and an upward one on the table. Mach3 has a camera plugin with cross hairs. I only need the cross hairs for the downward camera as the upwards camera is actually horizontal looking through a 45 degree front surface mirror which has a calibration point marked on it.

I think AmCap has crosshairs as well.

  • @gravelrashdotcom Well, that helps. I will have to look up the mach3 plug in. I tried AmCAP, but I didn't find the crosshairs. Fortunately, I am a c# programmer and I can add it myself. It may come in handy if I ever decide to make PnP software. Why do you use an upward facing camera?

  • Wow that looks great! When do you plan to put the plans up for sale on your website.

  • @eod9910 I will have the machine kit for sale on the site. The videos are quite extensive as I have a ton of footage on the assembly. These videos will go into depth on the machine and how it works.

  • @anajonesr I have eight pick-up heads, so I use the up camera solely to calibrate head offsets

I align the flying camera over the upward camera to set origin for the heads, then align each head over the up camera to check/set each head offset

These values are manually stored in my spreadsheet & included in generated pick place GCode (populated into Mach3 as user variables) for use in pick/place offset calculations & also the Mach3 vb macros/buttons to quickly check (& set) each head/feeder

  • @anajonesr Where are the in depth video's? On the site or on youtube? I can't seem to find them.

  • What's the software package?
