I know how they got their name....and it was NOT the song "Ballin' the Jack" ...There was some groupie named Jackie hanging around the band, and 'enjoying' each band member, and somone said, 'hey where's Jim or Luther? to which the roadie replied "probably upstairs Balling Jackie......true story.

Ballin'jack was the first band I ever saw in concert, warming up the crowd for Jethro Tull at the Swing Auditorium...They blew away the special guests, Clouds, and scared Tull into never having BJ open for em again...Saw them over 20 times opening up for 3 Dog Night, Canned Heat, Jethro Tull, It's a Beautiful Day, Tower of Power Loggins & Messina (live album recorded there), and of course, Jimi Hendrix, Was lucky to meet Luther Rabb and 'hang' with him at his house off Sunset Strip...Magical

Did anyone ever figure out what "Part 1" meant, or if there was ever a "Part 2"? Anyway, this is a great version of this song: clean horn sound, Beatles-like vocal harmonies, and cool guitar feedback.
