I am not anti anything. But america as whole is pretty backward comapred to resources they have.

Education system is fucked up.

Science is not given any significance.

Defence has biggest spending

Healthcare is horrible

I love Bill Maher. Now when this is out of the way...

There is no consensus among scientists on evolution - the more exposed to the scientific community one is, the more apparent it becomes. In the same way, there was no consensus among economist on gov't spending - there was a consensus among Keynesian economists whose side gov't has been supporting since 1930s as it justified its involvement in the economy on the first place.

Just my 2 cents.

when resources end up on the top 1% there's not much left for essential government services. what good is it to have the highest GDP in the globe, if the top 1% are the ones enjoying 95% of the return. "free-trade" will always be tilted. it's just a huge & complex ponzi scheme.

For every sane Bill there's a polar opposite. For Maher it's O'Reilly. As a Finnish citizen I'm glad I don't know too many Bills - just the sane and internationally famous ones (Maher, Clinton, Hicks). I'd go nuts if Fox News was on here. But what do I know, a left-wing loon and a pinhead.

When i was younger i always looked up to America and wanted to live there when I'm grown up because, to me, it was the land of the free - a big fucking island far away where everyone is well educated and happy.

Today...no thanks I rather stay in germany and laugh about our politics...and cry about yours

i like maher for several reasons. he understands that marriage isn't for everyone, supports the legalization of marijuana, and seems to have less of a filter than other people. although sometimes I think he says things to just to get a laugh and doesn't quite know what he is talking about, but hey he's a comedian, not an elected official.

Second, he went to school at Cornell and has been involved in intellectual comedy and politics since the 80s. What makes Glenn Beck or Rush or anyone else qualified to talk about anything?
