hello :) to the tip of his tail he's about 8.5ins. he grew quickly...so i'd say it took 5-6 months :)

  • About how long is your Bichir and how long did it take him to get to that size?

  • @historian500

oh no!! its really too bad that they cant be in the same tank :(..i wish we could talk to fish , reassure them 'you WilL be fed.....please dnt eat the other fish!! ' lol

~that happened to me aswell!! :) except i had tiger barbs and platties. they were way to big for him to eat at the time....but he apparently didnt think so, and grew really fast and ate them.. :)

  • @Shienya42 I had a Senegal Bichir for several months that was about six inches and he ate and killed all of my Rosy Barbs that I had at the time.

YES! They are Very fun and interesting fish too watch!! im glad i bought one.

~and Thank u for the reminder, i only put small fish and shrimp in that are meant to be eaten. :)

  • I have kept Brown and Black Ghost Knives for a years now and they are definitely interesting fish. Just don't put anything small in there or your Bichir will have it for lunch.
