Naomi had been a presenter on Milkshake for just over ten years. I realised a while back that the Milkshake team were, in a way, not following the trend of current kids tv - fast, loud, colourful and outrageous for the school kids or slow, quiet, patronising and a little creepy for pre-school - they found a balance by looking back at what they used to watch and using those influences as their way forward, and it works!
This new programme reminds me of Saturday morning kids tv from when I was a nipper. Although the Multi Coloured Swap Shop set the trend for outside broadcasts, I'm thinking more of Get Fresh with Gaz Top, Charlotte Hindle and Gilbert which was always touring the country, the live ob's by Anthea Turner, Jenny Powell and Tony Dortie on UP2U and possibly Ghost Train with Frances Dodge, Sabra Williams and Angelo Abela.
The edition of this programme comes from Whipsnade Zoo close to where I live. Typically I was away on holiday at the time, so that's another missed opportunity for getting to meet Naomi!
