Complete video of breath hold diving all over the ship at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-Ydlfdp5QQ .

This is just a short clip of scooter free or breathhold diving on the wreck of the Vandenberg four days after it was sunk. It lay in 140 ft. of water about 7 miles south of Key West close to the clear blue waters of the Florida Current. Viz. was limited at around 50 to 60 ft. but it was a fun dive.

WARNING:
Warning: Don't do this without proper training. Scooter free diving can be easy, until you figure out you've stayed down too long and pass out, the power dies, scooter floods, you hit your head, goes off without you, etc.. Stuff that happens. Then you have to make your way to the air on your own, if it isn't too far away. It is easy to go too deep. You can even open yourself up to DSC hits free diving on scooter, lots to know and practice.

  • I dove the Thunderbolt last year. Wrecks are soooo cool

  • @deepswim The bottom of the ocean is 140ft, the super structure and whatever else at top of ship is the top structure. So if you dove to the pilothouse and it was at 80ft you didn't dive to bottom at 140ft.

  • what is a Top-structure depth? You say botom is 140 ft deep

  • That is so Cool

  • now thats what i'd like to try
