@padraic2001eire just one more thing the market in the uk is much larger which is why the Pogues wanted to break it like the Beatles in the USA the best way to get Irish music across is internationally unfortunately we have to live with euro vision wins and lord of my pants give me Pogues Christy Moore etc. any time

@padraic2001eire actually its because they lived in London at the time would see them around Camden in those days nothing personal, but in those days you could not lay a bet in Ireland and get 50/1 I am sure they did lay a wager but for legal reasons kept it quiet

i had the honour of driving shane home one night in my taxi. he is a gent and we sang new york new york to my cover cd of frank sinatra songs .i feel so lucky to have such a wonderful memory of him and the craic we had on the journey to his house .
